We always appreciate extra information, such as what activities your students did to raise MCA funds; your stories and photos can also be published at our weekly Diocesan Newsletter, The Beacon. The Missions Office will always acknowledge your generosity through a Thank You Letter from the Director or Mission Coordinator.

MCP educates the people of our diocese to the missionary work of the church and provides financial aid to mission-sending communities, societies and dioceses around the world. The mission office coordinates requests for funding from various missions and approves their representative or contact person to come to our diocese to give a mission appeal talk in the parishes assigned to them.

The following countries are approved to come to the Diocese of Paterson for a Mission Appeal.

A Letter of Endorsement for the contact person must be attached to the application with the proper seal of the Bishop, Superior of the Archdiocese/Diocese of religious order/community.

Deadline of Submission: November 30 of the current year.

We do not accept application by email. The USA contact person endorse by the Bishop/Superior, especially if the application is from outside the United States of America, should have a USA Address, phone number and email address for ease of communication. Processing is as follows:

• Before the end of January, MCP Survey Form will be emailed or faxed to the applicant's contact person.
• By mid-March, the MCP Approval Form will be mailed to the approved Archdiocese/Diocese/community/Order or Non-Profit Group with the date of their Mission Appeals in our Diocese. Meeting the deadlines is a very important factor.
• The MCP Regulations will be enclosed in the Approval Form and must be read and understood well by the contact person and speakers. For any question about this matter, Please call or email: [email protected] - 973-777-8818 x256.
• Dates are given to make sure that air fare reservations are made ahead of time. Airport should be Newark International Airport (EWR). These dates were given by the pastors and are fixed.
• Name and location of parishes will be given only when the original Letters of Suitability of all the speakers, duly signed by the Bishop/Superior or head of Non-Profit organization (with proper seal) are mailed to the Mission Office on or before the deadline
• Mission Appeal in the Diocese of Paterson is strictly done during the month of August Only.

MCP 2021 approved the following Dioceses, Communities (men/women) and non-profit organization.

Aside from the above, also approved were sixteen (16) Religious Order, fifteen (15) Religious Communities and three (3) non-profit entities with ministries in the following mission countries:

Two MCP checks are mailed to the contact person sometime between October and January of the following year. We mail checks and wire transfer outside of the USA. Each approved missionary group should have a dollar account here in the United States or in their native country or they will not qualify.
