Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
Amen
Pope Francis wrote in his February 2022 letter announcing the Jubilee 2025:
"We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision. The forthcoming Jubilee can contribute greatly to restoring a climate of hope and trust as a prelude to the renewal and rebirth that we so urgently desire..."
From the Decree:
Indulgence "is a way of discovering the unlimited nature of God’s mercy. Not by chance, for the ancients, the terms ‘mercy’ and ‘indulgence’ were interchangeable, as expressions of the fullness of God’s forgiveness, which knows no bounds" (Spes non confundit, 23).
The Indulgence, therefore, is a Jubilee grace.
What more can I know about Indulgences and how do I obtain this grace for myself and others during the 2025 Jubilee Year?
From now on, I am happy to think that the year 2024 preceding the Jubilee event of 2025 will be dedicated to a great ‘symphony’ of prayer, first of all, to recover the desire to be in the presence of the Lord, to listen to him and adore him. - Pope Francis

Pope Francis invites everyone to participate in the grace-filled Jubilee “Year of Hope” which opens in Rome on December 24, 2024 and in every diocese in the world on December 29, Feast of the Holy Family. On 12/29, in the spirit of the Jubilee and to gain the plenary Jubilee indulgence, Bishop Kevin Sweeney will lead a short pilgrimage starting at 3pm from the Fr. English Center to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist before celebrating the Opening Jubilee Mass. We hope many will join this first Jubilee event! You may also simply attend the Mass if you cannot make the walk. Each parish will carry a parish banner during the pilgrimage procession into the Mass. O Father, in Your mercy, hear Your children's pleas. As we prepare for the Jubilee of 2025, renew our faith, increase the virtues of hope and charity in us, and help us be witnesses of Your love in the world.
We praise You, Lord, for Your infinite goodness. In the upcoming Jubilee, open our eyes to the beauty of Your creation so that our hearts may rejoice in the wonder and greatness of Your works.
We thank You, O God, for every blessing and for all the gifts we have received. As we prepare for the Jubilee, teach us to recognize Your hand in every moment of our lives and to welcome each day as a gift of Your mercy and love.
Lord, source of all wisdom, guide us during this Year of Prayer as we prepare to celebrate the upcoming Jubilee. Open our hearts and enlighten our minds so that we may understand and fully experience the gifts of mercy and forgiveness.
