How to Apply for Missionary Cooperation Plan

The Diocesan Mission Office coordinates requests for funding from various missions and approves their representatives to come inside our Diocese

The Pontifical Mission Societies were given the title "Pontifical" in 1922 and have special responsibility in the Universal Church. They are under the Canonical jurisdiction of the Holy Father who, together with the entire body of Bishops, remind the faithful of their baptismal call to mission, as they gather basic support for more that 1,150 mission dioceses in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Pacific Islands and Latin America. In general, the PMS include the Missionary Childhood Association (formerly Holy Childhood Association), The Society for the Propagation of the Faith, The Society of St. Peter, the Apostle, and the Missionary Union of Priests and Religious.

1. An Archbishop or Bishop of a Catholic Archdiocese or Diocese or the Superior of Religious Order/Congregation or the Director of Non-Profit organization can apply for Mission Appeal by writing a letter of application that should describe and explain briefly the rationale and urgency of the Mission Appeal. The letter must be written on an official letterhead signed by the Archbishop, Bishop, Superior or Director and with the proper seal. The letter should also endorse a Contact Person's complete name, USA Address, cell phone number and email address.
2. The Bishop or Contact person can email or mail the letter signed by the Bishop/Superior/Director.

5. Application must be received in the Mission Office on or before November 30^th of the current year. It is important that each applicant has a Dollar account either in USA or their own country

1. JANUARY - The MCP Survey Form will be emailed to the contact person. Deadline of submission is a Must.
2. MARCH - Approval of Mission Appeal. The contact person will receive the MCP Approval Form with TWO DATES of the Mission Appeals in our Diocese. MCP Regulations will be attached. Deadline of submission is a MUST.
3. MAY - Letters of Suitability of the speakers should be sent to the Mission Office on or before the deadline or the application is cancelled.
4. JUNE - name of the parishes and other information will be mailed to the contact person.
5. JULY - CONTACT PERSON communicates with the pastor and sends A BLUR AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THEIR MINISTRY a month before the actual Mission Appeal.
6. AUGUST - MISSIONARIES arrive to our Diocese and go to their respective parishes to do the Mission Appeal.
7. OCTOBER - JANUARY - MISSION APPEAL CHECKS WILL BE READY FOR DISTRIBUTION. (either by mail or wire transfer as requested)
