The Commission is established under the name of Diocesan Commission for Catholic Filipino Ministries (DCCFM), to be the voice of and for Catholics of Filipino origin in the Diocese of Paterson with the duty to make recommendations regarding the development and implementation of a Pastoral Plan for Filipino Ministry.
The DCCFM will serve as an advisory to the Diocese of Paterson for policy recommendations and pastoral implementation of such policies. All the decisions approved by the Commission shall be submitted to the Bishop, or his designee, for written approval; the Bishop can make use of other consultative groups for recommendations previous to the approval. This would generally include the Presbyteral Counsel, the College of Consulters, the Deans of the Diocese, the Diocesan Pastoral Council, and other groups.
The commission for Catholic Filipino Ministries will be comprised of no more than fifteen voting members who are Catholic lay men and women of Filipino origin. Members may be appointed in such a way to maximize representation across the diocese.
